Special Education Specialist

Alper Özdemir completed his undergraduate education at Marmara University Atatürk Faculty of Education. In 2020, he graduated from the Department of Special Education Teaching, which he started in 2016, with a high honor degree, and at the same time, he graduated from the Guidance and Psychological Counseling double major program, which he enrolled in 2017, with an honor degree. During his student years, he founded the Marmara University Special Education Community in order to raise awareness of students in need of special education and their families and served as the founding president for a year. In this process, he gained important experience in the field of special education by organizing various activities and organizations for families.

After his undergraduate education, he started his master's program in Marmara University Institute of Educational Sciences in the field of Teaching the Mentally Disabled in 2020. During his master's degree, he conducted a research on the imitation skill, which is of critical importance in early childhood, titled “Imitation Skill Teaching in Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder: Evaluating the Opinions of Special Education Teachers”, which is a qualitative research.

He started his professional career in special education institutions after his bachelor's degree in order to gain more field experience and worked as a special education teacher at the Mutluluğun Adresi Foundation Special Education and Rehabilitation Center between 2020-2022. In 2022, he started working at ÇADEM Psychology Counseling Center, where he gained experience in different special needs areas. Since September 2024, he has been working as a special education teacher at Face Psychology Clinic. In this process, he has worked in areas such as autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), special learning disability and Down syndrome.

His academic studies include articles and congress presentations evaluating the difficulties faced by individuals with intellectual disabilities in vocational education through teachers' views.
